Brion Gysin

Brion Gysin was a close collaborator of W.S. Burroughs. Eventually this will be turned into a page worthy of the man. (Then again, I've been saying that since 1996!)

• The beginnings of a Gysin Omniography (books, music, art, etc.)
• This is an essay which I feel is the clearest statement of Gysin's approach to life and art. It comes from Minutes to Go a book by Brion Gysin, Sinclair Beiles and Gregory Corso (Two Cities Editions, 1960).
• An essay on the Cut Up method stolen from the TOPY site (which seems to be no more).

• RoboPoet is a web-based applet that purports to create cut-up poems. Unfortunately, it simply creates random poems, which is much more like Tristan Tzara's technique of pulling random words and phrases out of a hat. A true cut-up poem generator would let you enter in batches of text and then randomly cut them up. Still, it was a nice thought.
